Wednesday 10 July – Wet and cloudy day

So glad we got out yesterday, it has rained all morning and then was pretty cloudy all day long. We never left the boat which is a bit surprising. There is nowhere to walk near here, so we enjoyed our little crater all to ourselves.

I so wanted to capture our anchorage where we sat out this Bogi Walu but I can’t seem to do it justice. Pano shots and wide angle were unsuccessful, if only we had the drone working!! We think we have the best anchorage in the area, we were lucky to find it empty, most of the yachties are surprised at us anchored here as they think it is so deep. We put the anchor down at the entrance, in about 15 m of water. maybe we are on the top of a lump. It doesn’t matter as we have not budged and the highest winds have been.

We got a few chores done in the cooler weather. In the evening we had Chet and Jessie from the boat Navisana over for drinks. We met Chet when we first arrived in Tonga, we had some stories to catch up on. Rowan laid out the wine as Jessie is a wine blogger, they actually didn’t drink too much as they were recovering from a day of overindulging at a remote beach yesterday, the two of them drinking and dancing alone on the beach letting their hair down. Sounded intriguing! She is Dutch and he is English, their home is in Holland, both introverts they claim! Wonder who they will support in the football!
