A morning of chores, finally getting all the guest laundry done. I decided to wash all the sheets on board as the laundry service can be a bit hit and miss. Huge sheets hung out to dry in the howling wind, I was terrified the fitted sheets would blow away as they catch the wind in their gathered corners. Luckily it dries very quickly and virtually got the first load dry by the time I hung out the second load.
There seemed to be endless goings on with the main sail coming down today. More mice lines had to be chased through the boat, not always going to plan! Our clutch for the main halyard still giving us grief. Rowan spotted a few ball bearings falling out of the cars that take the sail up the mast. Just hoping they can find replacements here, as some went into the sea. The guy who sold Rowan the sails is based here, and he has been on board trying to asses if the sails match the mast properly. Annoyingly he hadn’t ordered the paint for putting the UV strip on the furled jib, so we will have to try and get that done elsewhere as it is going to take at least a week to get here.
In the evening two guys who used to work at Virgin money with Rowan joined us. They created a company together after leaving Virgin Money, about 20 years ago, and they have both just sold out to a big Indian company. They have come to watch the West Indies test cricket as it is on their bucket list of things to do. I had no idea it was starting tomorrow. It appears that not many of the locals are bothered to watch it, just the foreigners!
