We suddenly realised our water was stinking, the water system has developed a smelly bacteria. This meant flushing and using a steriliser for 24 hours, to clean it all out. What a performance, just hope it works!
Pete and Libby came to help us sort out the new sail in the afternoon. Pete has a sailing business/charter in Croatia so has loads of sailing experience. In the morning they had got their vaccines at the medical centre which they were very chuffed about (they are late thirties, so they are very pleased to be getting it before all their English friends). The new spinnaker is enormous and instead of furling it (winding it up) to put it away, it has something called a snuffer which is like a sock going over the sail, attached to ropes to lift up and down over the sail. The problem was we had to get it set up as the sail was all neatly folded and not inside the sock. It took all four of us to keep in under control and stuff it into the sock as it wound all over the boat, because it is so long. We deserved our tea and banana bread after all that effort. That lead onto drinks and snacks, it landed up being a very long evening, with a delicious rum punch that Rowan made with coconut milk and guava juice (I’m blaming it for the lack of blogging!).
