Tuesday 29 October – intermittent sun and rain all day

The sun came and went all day, which was pretty tricky for doing laundry. I had to listen to the ping of clothes pegs being knocked onto the deck with each gust of wind, which meant getting the laundry off the line before it blew away and got wet in the rain. Rowan did a few boat chores.

In the afternoon we got a taxi to Haruru, to a big Woolworths supermarket. Haruru is next door to Paihia where we walked to yesterday. We stocked up with fresh food, such a pleasure shopping having so much choice. The fridges are full again for our pootle around the islands. We are in the Marina until Thursday.

Just as well we leave soon as I thought I had blocked the toilet but discovered our black water tank is full, they have to be closed here in the marina and the loos are quite far away. Lucky we can use the loo on the guest side (separate tank)! These things are important for comfortable living …… especially as it is very chilly at the moment!

Otherwise a slow day.
