Rowan had the best sleep in ages as the little bay was calm and flat. My ear was throbbing so I had a less enjoyable night. We moved in the midday light to have good visibility as there are loads of bommies around that need avoiding. Rowan chose a spot where he wanted us to based for the next weather blast. We were amazed to find that 11 boats had got there before us! We managed to find a spot tucked in near the beach with good protection, and not too many boats near us. By the end of the day Alia Vita and the two Kiwi motor launches, that were in the village anchorage with us last night, were behind us.
Brooke and Gary from One Life came to visit in the afternoon. Their big news is that she is pregnant and suddenly really showing, they are so excited. They return to Florida for the birth but hope to be back on the boat in 6 months.
We went for a lovely sunset beach walk. Loads of young kids about playing Volleyball, I assume that all the kid’s boats have congregated here. There is a thriving website called Kids4sail that seems to keep all the boats with kids very well connected. Such fun for them.
I was desperate to get into bed as my ear was really hurting, the antibiotics seem to be taking a while to kick in. I was rather shivery and running a temperature, so crossing fingers the antibiotics do their work soon.

Sunrise

Morning light on the Kiwi motor launch with dramatic cliffs behind

Extraordinary island shapes

Heading to our new spot

It is a maze of little islands to navigate around, my job is to look out for bommies which is nerve racking when I can never get my left and right sides correct (port and starboard is way too much to ask of me!)

Plenty of islands cracked in half

Photo especially for Stella! I have finally mastered growing sprouts, which is great as we are down to our last few fresh vegetables……. 2 carrots and half a cabbage

Our new anchorage

Tucked up in the new spot, Google does not spell the island name correctly, it is Fuluga

Evening beach walk

Low tide

Ongea island in the distance between the two islands

Incredibly tough trees clinging on before they collapse into the sea

Twinkling anchor lights in the sunset
