Nobody had a very good sleep, Sporty Spice the Code Zero sail, partially unwrapped during my watch, which caused a terrible flapping noise and required both Rowan and Phil to get up and sort it out, letting it out and re-furling it. Just a relief it was nothing more serious as we couldn’t see the problem initially in the dark, as it was behind Pash Spice, the jib.
We had a great day sailing, Sporty Spice did a great job at pushing us along in winds in the mid teens, wind from the right direction, we were cruising. We were all pretty tired as it was not the easiest night to sleep through. Mid morning we were way ahead of the pack of boats and could not see a single other boat on our chart. The looming weather system is brewing so we are going to go as fast as possible to get in before Saturday, we should be fine. Eta at the moment if Friday evening.
I made a prawn curry for supper followed by fruit salad, made from very sweet little pineapples, pawpaws and mangoes. We are not starving! Especially with our big chocolate stash for the night passage.
I’m writing this on my midnight to 3am shift, which is why it is out a bit earlier than usual.

Showing the ocean passage and where we are

Our charts showing great speeds, 11.1 knots – SOG, speed over ground, averaging 9.2 knots

Another end of day
