We had Ginger Spice up all night and day, we have had a couple of Swedish Arc boats nearby that keep coming and going into our radar zone. The wind was constantly between 10-15 knots, perfect for Ginger Spice. It was a very comfortable day. We are revelling in the fact that Stinky (our Elon Musk satellite dish for the internet) is still working out here in the middle of nowhere. We have been discussing how it will transform long passages for cruising yachts, it is amazing to keep up with the other 10 or so boats who also have it. We can also see how we are doing in comparison to the boats around us which is always reassuring. Crossing the Atlantic was a completely different thing, no contact except a satellite daily email. We so enjoy reading our paper every morning, doing our Wordle and the Times Fiendish Sudokus too. Megan has managed to persevere doing her PHD, one of her supervisors was astonished to hear she was calling from the middle of the Pacific! And of course it has been wonderful for Han to keep in touch with Noah back in Botswana. Quite incredible.
The days slip by and the most memorable times are the meals. Nevil made us delicious ceviche for lunch, mango mocktails, then fish dumplings for supper, the girls got a delicious mix of chopped pecan and cabbage dumplings. We didn’t know we were getting a keen chef for crew! Everyone goes to bed at 8pm and gathers again around 9am. Which makes it quite a short day.
