After a lazy morning and our normal cooked breakfast, Rowan had another surprise for Jan. We all got into Jeldi Jeldi which is a bit of a heavy load when the water is choppy, but we made it around the headland to a huge collection of boats. The famous swimming pigs were trotting up and down the beach and swimming out to each arriving boat to get food. The pigs came in every shape and colour, quite remarkable and very chilled considering the amount of teeny clad instagrammers teasing them with non existent treats! It was almost as much fun watching the ridiculous people!

Our return to Pole Pole was far more dramatic as the chop had increased and we were going into the wind. We were suddenly half filled with water and all getting a little hairy as the fuel tank was bobbing around our knees! Xavi and I had to start bailing out the water with our drinking bottles, but it was filling up as quickly as we were bailing. It was a relief to finally get back to Pole Pole and have a relaxing afternoon.

Once the current and tide calmed down, we all had a lovely snorkel from the boat in very pretty coral. We saw a large lobster, conch, lots of other tiny colourful fish hiding amongst the coral. A Lion fish looked stunning in the clear afternoon light, such a pity they are such a pest and so poisonous! We all got out and Rowan decided to go out with his Bahamas sling (spear guns are illegal here) to see if he could get us dinner. Only after a few minutes I have never seen him swim so fast back to the boat….. he had eye contact with an enormous shark and decided not to take any chances! We think it was a 6 foot Bull shark…..I’m not feeling quite so confident of snorkelling in these waters anymore!

A lovely balmy evening so we went back to town and had fish and steak at the pub. It was a dark dinghy ride back to Pole Pole, thank goodness we remembered the big torch.
