Rowan has tweaked his back a little, nothing serious but wants to give it a rest, we think from gutting all the fish, so we decided to have a very slow day. Getting the kayak off the boat is a bit of an effort and we can’t go into shore with our dinghy as our wheels don’t work. We stayed on board all day, the only boat in the bay, it was pretty idyllic. I enjoyed watching what we now know are Comorants (better known as Shags here) not Herons, nesting in the trees near us. They have turned a few trees white where they are nesting, with all their poop. I think I can see some chicks through the binos. There are two types, Pied Shag with black and full white stomachs, and Black Shag which is totally black. The trees along the waterline near us are magnificent gnarly old trees, I can see why they chose to all nest here. It is also very protected.
Rowan was very pleased to cook some lamb chops on the BBQ, his favourite Sunday lunch. Very appropriate with all the lambs bleating up on the hillside! We had an evening of watching some great TV, which we have not done in ages – we are enjoying Disclaimer, Diplomat and Slow horses!

The trees near us full of Shags, hard to see, but the trees are amazing too
