We set off promptly in the morning, waving goodbye to all on Viridian. We had a great sail back with winds in the mid to high teens, giving us a perfectly comfortable ride back in quite choppy big waves. We went around the windward side, passing Nonsuch Bay where we spent many nights on our last trip to Antigua. Luke, Phoebe and Rowan all had kite surfing lessons there.

Leaving Princess Diana’s beach at sunrise. We have heard it is called after her as it became a favourite spot of hers because it is so remote.

We got to the marina just before lunch to discover they had not kept us the spot on the fuel dock as Rowan had asked. They tried to get us in front of a huge pink and black Oyster boat (great boat just seriously horrible colours, with a pink glittery turtle head that I think looks like a snake head). Finally we just went into a super yacht berth that was empty, much to the boat man’s consternation. Luckily Rowan has got very chummy with Helen who runs the place, whose favourite comment to Rowan is that PolePole has a big bottom like her!

Achenar, the good looking Oyster in horrible colours
The work force arrived in bits and pieces, my chore was to come up with a plan for Leather man to sort out the inside leather helm chair that is bashing into the desk. We finally came up with a plan, he is quite an old man and definitely has failing eyesight, which doesn’t make for the neatest job but at least I think we have a reasonable solution. It all moved along at a slow pace, and we still had Tommo the handy man here long past 6pm. The halyard will only go up tomorrow.
We had a delicious salad supper, with Marsha from the restaurant here at the marina, supplying me with more excellent rocket and lettuce from her Mum’s garden. My huge avos have all ripened, half is more than enough for two of us. Rather good to have a healthy day of eating.
