The boat next door picked up their anchor before 6am, it wasn’t long after that we had ours up too and headed out to sea. We motored out as we were heading straight into the wind, there was an incredible chop and the swells were huge. As soon as we were out far enough we got the sails up. The winds were in the mid 20’s not the low teens as had been predicted. It was a tight sail as far as we could get into the wind. Our neighbours in the monohull were obviously going to San Blas too and we played tag with them the whole way. We had to do a lot of tacking and nearly overtook the monohull! The wind did finally come to a better angle, and died down a bit, allowing us to get Sporty up and we got the reef out of the sail, making the Germans feel very worried in the Monohull.
Towards 5pm we could see the start of the San Blas channel, Rowan picked the first anchorage we could get to called Chichime. It was very pretty and with a surprising amount of boats. Early supper and bed for us after all that bouncing.

Keeping watch

Chichime, our overnight stop

Wrecks on the treacherous coral

Getting in just as the light faded

Disappointed to see a cruise liner here, thankfully it was leaving the channel
