Sharks!

Allen’s Cay to Shroud Cay – Relaxed morning, but decided to leave after the tourist boats rolled in playing Shakira on repeat and the beaches became swamped with selfie-takers. R + T headed to the marina to load up with oil for the tender, and re-stock the essential tomato supply. R returned to the boat with a ‘surprise’, and loaded J + H onboard to see…..SHARKS! (Nurse and a 12-ft bull shark!! :O) swarming underneath the fish-cleaning station. Man on jetty threw some right at us!!! The sharks swam right underneath the boat- it was amazing! We did a short motor across to Shroud Cay – mum getting her MOB training. We were going to throw dad overboard but he conveniently saw a fin right at the last minute. We went on a wonderful dinghy ride down a river that went through Shroud Cay, with mangroves on either side. We spotted countless turtles, that swam right under the boat, rays and Grebes. It got a bit hairy at times when we grounded, as dad got his tide calculations wrong, and we had to decide whether to keep going or turn back- luckily we persevered and came out the other side! We had a long slog in GeldiGeldi back to PolePole (luckily she was now loaded up with oil). Gorgeous sunset blocked out by an enormous gin palace called Hospitality. Delicious dins, very strong G&T’s, star gazing and watching big fish devour our scrummy mushroom skins.
