Settling into Quarantine

We had to be at the dinghy dock at 9:30am to get our PCR test done. It’s all been contracted out to Jimmy who owns the waterfront hotel and all the mooring buoys. It was pretty laid back but nobody is taking any chances. We had our nostrils swept again which we are getting pretty used to, but never gets any better. We managed to ask the customs guy to buy us a couple of local sims which he promised to get out to us. Luckily a local on the jetty gave us the hotel’s wifi password and we got enough time for Rowan to add some time on our current sim, so at least we are back in communication. Desperate times!

Young island and Fort Duvernette

The cave and path leading to the top of Fort Duvernette

Strange rock formations….and rain

It was a day of catching up, we appreciated sitting under the awning enjoying the gusty wind keeping us cool. Plenty of rain in between the sunshine, no wonder the place is so lush. Rowan snorkelled to the rocks around Young Island and was very impressed with the sea life. He found an eel inside a huge dead fish head. The snorkelling here and in the Grenadine Islands is meant to be some of the best in the Caribbean, so looking forward to exploring.

Teeming with fish even though the locals are allowed to spear gun the fish in this marine park area.

You have to work this out…..the white thing is the dead fish head and the black giraffe like patterned thing is the eel. With a little spotted cowfish looking on.

Phoebe did her hardest to get us to join her on her exercise regime, but it was too late for Rowan and I, the sundowners were already out. It is actually quite difficult on the rocking boat, we will have to make up for it swimming laps around the boat.
