Thanks for all the concern over my ear, it is finally feeling quite a bit better, still completely blocked but no longer sore!
We were invited over for tea on Opal Lady a motor launch owned by Suz and Peter from Australia, we had met them in the marina in Savusavu. They are travelling with a Kiwi boat called Araroa, also a motor launch. They are lovely people, so friendly. So different to travelling through French Polynesia meeting so many friendly yachties here, the French boats are just not as friendly! Oops I hope I get away with that sweeping statement! Opal Lady is lovely old boat, full of old wood panelling, got that gentleman’s club feel about it, with a lovely cat on board that I enjoyed getting to purr.
With some nice wind, Rowan thought it was time to unpack his new wing foil, that we managed to put in our hold luggage to Tahiti! Sadly in a year some zips were already corroded by the sea salt …..we did finally get it open. The board is inflatable and he got that all set up and was just inflating the Wing when the air inlet came unstuck, such a disappointment. To console himself, he and Rob went out on the dinghy, and tried getting up on the foil being towed. It looked pretty difficult from the beach where Frances and I were having a good walk.
The men were exhausted after all that exertion, so it was another early quiet night for us.

That tiny object is Rowan trying to get up on the foil behind JeldiJeldi

The water looks incredible in the sunshine

Old tree desperately clinging on

Good sunset tonight over Opal Lady
