Woke up to a beautiful sunny day with blue skies and not a cloud in sight. Perfect for snorkelling. We discovered that a NZ boat called Scoots, that we had met in Bay of Islands was in the anchorage. Rowan went to ask them if they wanted to join him for a snorkel, Daryl was in the middle of a boat chore, but Carol jumped at it. I cant go into the water with my ears …… my thrill was doing laundry! Rowan wanted to go out to the outer reef where the waves are breaking about a km out, that was why he was keen for company. They found the coral was bashed up and not good, they came back and snorkelled around the bay and found beautiful, colourful coral in really good condition.
In the evening we went over to Scoots for sunset drinks, there was another kiwi couple there too. We all had a very good evening, The sunset was brilliant without a cloud in the sky and some were convinced they saw the green flash!
