The wind is dying down for a couple of days so we thought we would make the most of it and go back to the Cays. It also gave Rowan the excuse for a good sail as the winds were behind us, we picked up a good speed with the full main sail up, and the winds behind us. We had winds over 20 knots right down to they Cays where they finally died down. We passed a tall ship on our way, this is a Dutch school, they take kids on board for a term, to learn to sail. They do all their normal school lessons on board.

There was a frenzy of bird activity on the way down, mainly Brown Boobies

Incredibly we arrived in the Cays in the afternoon and not a single boat in the cut. We have hear horror stories of this being so rammed in season you cant get through it.

Incredible, out on the reef only one other boat, the wind has kept everyone away. We called Romeo the boatman to give us a hand onto a mooring ball and he said he wasn’t working as there were no boats!. It was great practice for us as we were determined not to anchor. First rope went on fairly smoothly but second rope was a lot trickier especially as our walkie talkie headset has broken. But we got there in the end after a lot of bellowing from me and a very sore, blue small toe!

Back in our favourite spot. The strong current has gone and we swam to the island for a bit of exercise, not much to see but loads of starfish. Endless turtles pop their heads out all around the boat, just harder to see out swimming.

By sunset two more boats arrived but still felt incredibly quiet.

A really spectacular sunset…. no filters on the photos!
