Repairs don’t go quite to plan!

We left Carlisle Bay and motored the short hop back onto the fuel dock at Catamaran marina in Falmouth harbour.

I knew it was going to be a hot steamy day of workman on the boat so I opted to walk over to the shops on the other side of the bay. I managed to while away plenty of hours and clock up 8kms walking. I found some enormous avocados and home grown fruit, which I lugged back to the boat. I was very happy to be away, as Rowan had a very frustrating day, with things he ordered not arriving, workman who promised to be around gone off to other jobs etc etc. It all means we have to come back next week. I also put a spanner in the works by saying I wasn’t happy with the main halyard being unable to run freely. Thankfully Rowan agreed, especially thinking it through that this will be the best place to get it right before the Pacific crossing. So we have ordered our third one! We will keep this old one as a spare, just as well to have a spare. We will have to get that all sorted and rigged up next week too.

I loved the colourful local houses I passed on the way to the shops

We are heading to the island of Barbuda, part of Antigua, this week end. Greg is celebrating his birthday and has booked a table at the restaurant Nobu on Sunday. I am assuming it is part of the London restaurant as it seems to be the talk of town here. Barbuda is very remote and when we visited last year had very little infrastructure. Apparently Robert De Niro has created a beach development which is pretty controversial with the locals.

We had dinner with Greg, Jan and their daughter Miranda, at the restaurant 5 Senses which we went to last week. It is a lovely location, and we had another enjoyable evening there.
