We got going early as we only have the car until 1pm. We tempted the German couple with our ray sightings and they joined us going back to Smith’s Reef. We had another lovely snorkel with the two rays swimming round and round us. We met an elderly couple yesterday who went out snorkelling for nearly 3 hours, we had got rather concerned about them and Rowan walked down the beach to see if they were ok. When they returned they said they do it every day and love swimming with the rays and turtles. They reassured me the rays were placid, so I found swimming with them today a little less nerve wracking. It was lovely to be on the beach again and having such a sea life haven so close to the water’s edge. Rowan remembered the GoPro today!

Got back to Pole pole and I decided to give it a much needed power wash. The windows are covered in sea water and debris from our lazy lines. It wasn’t the best job, but at least we can see out the windows a bit better now. We got eaten alive last night during the steamy windless night so we decided to put on our mozzie nets over the small side windows, which is a much fiddlier job than we had ever anticipated. It’s the first day I’ve got burnt, out there in my bikini doing chores, not realising how long I was out for.
The good news was we managed to get the freezer open, ice had got into the tracks and prevented it opening, so we had a delicious chicken thigh rice dish a la Rowan. Very tasty!
All very quiet here, I can see the blog dwindling down to a few scrappy sentences, life is going to get soooo slow here.
