That is not just me but the submerged volcano as well! There is an alert out for volcanic activity, from the volcano called Kick’em Jenny on the northern tip of Grenada.
We were very pleased early in the day to have someone interested in our last two seats for our charter flight to Martinique. Things went downhill though after the interested couple (South Africans) called back to say that they had tried to book our Air France flight to Paris and that it is no longer available. Once we got onto the website it looks like they have stopped taking bookings until after July 11 with absolutely no explanation. Of course it is an expensive phone number to call from here, and then it just rings and rings. This couple got family in Europe to try and find out what is going on, apparently they are amalgamating flights, we presume because of low demand. They managed to get the last flight leaving 22 June. We are waiting to get some information from Air France before we make any changes. We will have to see if we can change our charter flight, trickier now we have sold two seats, but we certainly don’t want to stay in Martinique where we would have to do another 2 weeks quarantine, but on land. There is proving to be nothing simple about getting home…… I’m kicking in sync with that volcano!
Rowan is also very excited about our last 10 days sailing around Grenada, I’m slightly less excited because of the storms, but I do think it would be a good way to end our 5 months away with a few days sailing, to remind ourselves of why we set out on this journey!
It rained off and on all day, a relief from the burning heat, which produced some incredible rainbows. One in particular is the most vivd rainbow I have ever seen and it had a second lighter one above it.

We had placed another order of fruit & veg with the market lady, it’s all island grown, very organic, and delicious. We also got some meat from the Heritage meats lady. So sad that our freezer isn’t working as it would have been wonderful to stock up for our sail north. Apparently we are not going to find much provisioning up there as it is more remote. Always good to have an opportunity to leave the boat and have a change of scenery.

Our full hammock of organic fruit…… as usual Rowan slaving away in the kitchen!! I sit under the hammock which is a little nerve wracking as it has once collapsed on me with no warning. The upside is sitting under the deliciously fragrant guavas, better than any room diffuser. I have decided guavas are so heavily scented and smell better than they taste, unlike some of our very pongy French cheese from Martinique which tastes 100% better than it smells!
Finally getting into my book Bear Town, things are heating up, I’m afraid it is going to be rather gruesome.
Went to bed feeling like the end of quarantine is in sight, we got our call up email to the Q dock for our Covid 19 test, our slot is on Wednesday morning.
