Into the Boatyard

We are very happy it was our last night in the marina. Our plans are moving forward.

Cedric is the guy who has done most of the work for the dealership. He told us last week the owner had terminated his employment because there isn't enough work. Really tough as his wife is pregnant with their first baby and she had to stop working a month ago. So Rowan has put the word out on the Martinique Cruiser's FaceBook and getting him some work. We asked him to come and work for us this afternoon and to help us move the boat to the Boatyard, so that R doesn't have to worry about his back. Rowan also put the word out that Aurelia the Chanel tailor was making dinghy covers - her phone hasn't stopped ringing, and has had loads of orders. She is also making a cushion to complete our double bed upstairs, which R is very excited about for overnight sails.

We moved into the Carenage (French for boatyard!), and were told to moor up in the main Haul Out dock, which made us look rather small! Aurelia was working on her boat nearby, her husband is the electrician for the dealership, and she warned us we are in the Dengue zone. We wondered why we hadn't seen Pierre the owner of the dealership and apparently he is down with Dengue fever, and a few others. I got bitten a couple of times which was enough to spur me on to complete my mossie covers for our windows.

It was an extremely hot day and evening without a breath of air and mossies out in full force! So early to bed for us.
