Woke up to loads of rain and cloud, a welcome relief. We had a great swim in the morning, Rowan swum all the way to shore, I didn’t feel brave enough to go quite so far, especially as swimming back was against the current. We had breakfast, got the sails up and headed back clockwise passed English Harbour to Falmouth harbour. PolePole was booked in to Catamaran Marina for the week to get our repairs done. We were expecting Luke to arrive in the afternoon, I sent him a message saying our phones don’t seem to work in Antigua and he will have to rely on wifi to contact us, and was very surprised to get a message straight back……I thought he was in the air, mid journey. Only to find out I had got the date wrong and he only arrives tomorrow, what a waste of a hotel night!

Shipwreck we passed
We finally found the marina, and discovered that it is not open on a Sunday, we eventually found someone who told us where to dock, which was nerve wracking doing it on our own with nobody to catch the ropes for us. Luckily they had enormous bollards and they were fairly easy to lasso as we came up alongside the dock.
Dripping with sweat we finally got a taxi to the resort which was a fascinating 40 minute trip through the centre of the island where all the locals live. Endless churches and roadside shacks selling anything and everything. The resort is in an amazing location and seems to own the whole beach here at Galley Bay. It feels pretty remote, there is a big lagoon you cross after checking in to get to our room which is right on the beach, all set in beautiful gardens. Gorgeous colour water here with crashing waves.
