Jax and Iain had introduced us to an English couple they had met here in the Windward Islands, it turned out that they are in the next door bay and desperate for some English company. They had invited us to theirs for lunch yesterday but we had our zoom bookclub with everyone back home (and Jax) so couldn’t make it. I forgot to mention bookclub in the blog yesterday, I think I was still drunk on getting land feet! It was great fun seeing everyone, sadly my ipad seemed to only cope with 9 people, so people kept coming and going on the screen. We had a second call where a few of us came back to, so we had a good couple of hours chat to catch up. Obviously some people are coping with lock down a bit more easily than others, incredible how everyone has their families back home.
We went into the village as Rowan had heard there was a fresh produce market. We tramped around the streets searching in vain and getting nowhere with our French. Just as we were giving up we noticed a vehicle at what we thought was a queue at the bus shelter and saw them offloading vegetables. It was a queue for the fruit and veg stall that was assembled at a snail’s pace while we all baked good-humouredly in the sun. It was definitely worth the wait, delicious tomatoes, avocados, mangos, pineapple and granadillas.

I made a big salad for lunch with our delicious purchases and had a version of a salad nicoise with the whole bag of prawns that Rowan cooked last night. Rowan went to pick up Greg and Jan who had walked over from the bay next door, from the dock at 1pm. They were great fun and we had an excellent lunch washed down with loads of good wine. They have been sailing since 2017, and have been in the Med until they came across here in January. Greg is a sailing instructor and races so they are in a competency class above us but it was reassuring that he is equally hindered on the DIY skills like us! We had lots of good laughs exchanging sailing stories. Luckily the wind died by 5pm and Rowan took them back to their boat in Jeldi Jeldi around the headland. Always a little nerve wracking after a few drinks but at least he remembered to take extra fuel and the vhf! We plan to see them next week when we move the boat to a bay near to a supermarket and laundromat.
I’m including some photos of the interior for our friend Neil! I think he wants to know what we have been confined in for the past few weeks!

Our ensuite, we have the whole hull on the left, little writing desk and big shower bathroom at the end.

Two guest rooms in the hull on the other side with their own small bathroom in between

A dark cloudy sunset but no storm, just very still and hot.
