Friday 17 February – Lucky Phoebs arrives in sunshine

Han and Megan went to the mainland to do a bit of exploring, they caught a taxi and did their own highlands tour without paying exorbitant Arc prices. It was a great success, and their taxi driver was very helpful and also took them to his home for a delicious home grown San Cristobal coffee. They had an Austrian couple join them on the trip, that they had met on the plane, this meant their trip was even cheaper.

Danni (Phoebe’s boyfriend) arrived an hour before Phoebe as they couldn’t get onto the same flight. Poor Danni went straight into a zoom meeting after getting into more appropriate hot weather clothing, the last day of work before his holiday started. Phoebs finally arrived in the afternoon, so lovely to have the girls on board finally. Both girls came heavily laden with goods for the boat, we had a great session on both the UK and US Amazon accounts.

Once Phoeb’s had settled in we went to shore to go to a beach nearby, La Loberia, for a refreshing swim. It turned out to be a wonderful snorkel, the water was so clear and full of colourful fish and huge Parrot fish, with loads of baby Sea Lions playing around. Loads of turtles too. It was great to see more locals there than foreign tourists, all very well controlled and strictly monitored.

We made a mad dash back to the boat for a quick shower and dressed up to celebrate Phoeb’s birthday back at Muyu where we had celebrated Valentine’s night. We had booked a table outside and had the most delicious meal, we seemed to order better and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their farm produced meals. It was a great way to end the day, and we were all very jolly after some special cocktails.
