Clouds hampering our snorkelling and solar panels!

From pretty early in the morning we had youngsters coming out to the boat wanting jobs and/or money. The first few Rowan made sandwiches for, but we soon ran out of bread and had to stop as obviously word was getting around. Rather sad as what starts as good will, starts turning sour as they get pesky! They all have the same opening line…. ‘So what’s the plan for today’! It drives Rowan mad, who either interrogates them on what their plans are, or lectures them on how to be more helpful to people on yachts! A huge day Catamaran arrived with tourists on board to snorkel, the boat boys descended like vultures on them. Once everyone had departed we went for a snorkel but the visibility was not great and without the sun a lot less impressive. Sadly it looked like it could have been wonderful coral but looks overfished with huge big fishing traps wedged between the coral. Sadly a lot of the coral looked like it had green sludge on it and did not look that healthy. We did see another spotted moray eel, this time it was desperately hiding from us with its head under the coral and just its body exposed.

We headed off north when the drizzle stopped, we had thought we would do one more snorkel stopover on the way back to Rodney Bay but the weather was so gloomy we decided to go all the way back. With the sails up and not a lot of wind, we had a slow gentle trip back. We had to have the engines on as the solar has generated nothing today.

We decided to anchor out in the bay near Pigeon Island for the night and will go into the marina tomorrow night. The temperature has dropped and Rowan had to wear a jumper for supper, shock horror!

Grey skies and drizzle

Pigeon Island, we cant find out how it got its name, it doesn’t look very pigeon like to me!

Anchored out in the bay at Rodney Bay, great clouds again.
