Our first really grey, rainy day and it is most welcome! Also the first rumblings of thunder we have heard on our trip. The stormy rainy season has begun with hurricanes to follow! A great start to quarantine having a lovely cool day. At times it poured with heavy rain which has done a wonderful job of getting the salt off Pole Pole. I had no idea how greasy and crusty sea water makes everything. Rowan’s chuffed his solar is pumping out the charge in between the showers.

The VHF was busy all morning with the marina informing the various quarantine cruisers they could come to the dock to pick up their delivery from the Bakery (yum!). Makes you realise how important a boat name is, when you try and decipher the names being called over the radio! We were allowed to the dock to drop off our propane gas tank which will be a great relief to get that filled up. Rowan had got into a little argy bargy with Mr Busybody from Reading, on the Grenada Cruisers Face Book page. Rowan had asked if anyone knew where we could get Propane Gas and Mr Busybody replied that ‘we are meant to arrive fully prepared for quarantine’. When Rowan replied that we couldn’t get propane in our 5 weeks in Martinique because it is illegal there, he replied that it wasn’t illegal! Oh dear, we had thought we may do a bit of socialising here!
The coastguard police are doing a lot of patrolling around the boats. Came right near us, checked us out with binocs and looked like they ticked us off a list. We had been told they are being very strict, and it certainly looks that way. They were still patrolling at 7:30 pm, Rowan had thought that everyone would be socialising after dark, but I don’t think so! So different to casual Martinique, obviously the huge majority of boats there were French and I don’t think I saw a single American flag. Here there are a lot of American and Canadian boats, and quite a few Brits.

Coastguard on patrol.
It was a gorgeous sunset again, with dramatic clouds. The cloud shifted and we had a wonderful full moon, with plenty of stars out. Very pretty with the twinkling lights on land.

Sunset with a Rum Punch and truffle popcorn!

Sea turned pink!
