We got going before breakfast and dropped a few more goodies off for Gismo, including books and my herb plants. The sea was not much kinder than yesterday as we bashed our way forward. The nearest island was St Eustatius and when we consulted the wind apps, we decided to do a Q stop there. We emailed in but got no reply, at least we tried and apparently as long as you don’t get off the boat, they don’t seem to mind.

Leaving Saba.

Gizmo, Fred and Ingrid collecting hand outs!

Going south of Saba.

This is the only boat harbour at Saba, not suitable for yachts.

St Eustatius, with a lot more flat low lying land that impenetrable Saba.
This gave us the whole afternoon to get stuck into packing up. The buyer of our boat has paid a substantial deposit and is flying out Friday to see the boat and get a survey done. We need at least two days to do a serious clean up. So we need to be in Martinique by Wednesday at the latest.
It is a very busy harbour with endless commercial boats around and loads of tugs, a busy oil depot. Being a Sunday and customs closed, we just sat tight and were not bothered by anyone.
The boat is looking more and more chaotic with all our bags and boxes out, plus the huge box for the outboard motor. It was good to be getting another good night’s sleep.
