We woke up after a bouncy night to dark clouds and downpours, it continued all day long with the sun only making a brief appearance every now and then. A good day to do a bit of boat cleaning. Rowan and I managed to tackle cleaning the big sliding doors while Phoebe was on a work call most of the morning. Rowan did a lot of bottom (hull) scrubbing with some excellent scouring pads that Phoebs brought out.

A ray of sun before the next lot of rain
We kept waiting for a break in the weather to go and explore the island. Every time we got ready to go, another rain cloud dumped, until finally we got a little break. It was very adventurous going out in JeldiJeldi as the sea was choppy, but Rowan managed the waves and swells so that we could admire the unusual coastline. Tiny little beaches between rocky outcrops. We have seen photos of people landing on the beaches, but it was way too rough for us. We got to the end of the cliffs and quite far, so we turned around and hadn’t been going a few minutes when the heavens opened and we were drenched. Our return was straight into the wind, we got got soaked by every wave too. on our way back Phoebs and Rowan were amazed as I spotted the scrub that Rowan had lost from his pocket while cleaning the bottom of the boat. It turned out to be a good rescue!

Interesting coastline

The photos don’t do the rough waters justice

Gorgeous coves with little beaches

Returning in the rain to PolePole

Phoebs is drenched!

A little evening sun

Dark clouds approaching

The big moon peeped above the clouds for a while
Stinky provided us with a good movie to watch – ‘Where the Crawdads sing’.
