28 September – sort out day

There was not a cloud in the sky, not a breath of air, just blistering heat. We had loads of chores to sort out. We spent a couple of hours getting Sporty Spice (the Code Zero) out the front hatch to patch a hole caused by chaffing. We couldn’t find the spot so we had to hoist her, once found get her down again, it all took a lot of effort in the midday sun. Once it began to cool down we tackled cleaning our ropes that had been in the water for the three weeks we were away. They were absolutely disgustingly filthy and covered in barnacles, smelly too! The front of the boat was filthy from the ropes when we got them back on board, the pressure washer did a good job cleaning the boat, but never budged the barnacles on the ropes. I had a big wash of the fenders which had also got really horrible in the water. After Rowan had a few work calls, we had another glorious sunset and were ready for bed. We never managed to leave the boat today but at least we are looking pretty sorted.

You may need to turn the volume up. This is a recording of church singing from the local village church on our left, and drums coming from local performers at the resort on our right.
