Nassau to Allen’s Cay – morning sail (with Hannah’s home-made guac to break up the day) to arriving at our destination early afternoon – Iguana island! Went snorkelling first- saw a MASSIVE lobster, lots of conch shells and sand biscuits – there was a huge current, but eventually we persuaded mum to join us. Went to “Unnamed Cay” next, but current was even worse that we quickly drifted past. Luckily the tender had just enough oil to get us back :O Visited the iguanas on the beautiful beach we were moored next to – they descended onto the beach expecting us to be loaded up with morsels of fruit, and were very disappointed to find that we weren’t. Hannah gave Tom a big fright by pinching his ankles when he wasn’t looking which got a great reaction. Mum was very taken with the cute chatty American Robin-esque bird.
An American family turned up with their dog (bad idea) – what would Coco have thought of them? Scrummy dins of veggie sausages (yay) and bison steak (eek) to celebrate the old fogey’s 33rd wedding anniversary!
