Our 39th wedding anniversary, what a day to remember with two Komodo dragons patrolling up and down the beach. After our usual late breakfast we enjoyed watching the dragons walk all over the remains of the other yachts fire from last night. The men from the other two yachts kept dashing in their dinghy to the beach, I think to take photographs. We eventually got going to the beach and had a happy few hours building sandcastles in lovely shade from a big tree. Amalie and David enjoying collecting shells and anything blue that had been washed up.The beach is ideal for them, and they are enjoying swimming to cool off. We are enjoying a really relaxed time getting to know the kids. We spotted the dragons again in the afternoon on our beach, they seem to cruise between the two beaches clambering over the rocks to get between the two. Late afternoon we were just enjoying the trampoline in the shade of the awning when a big squall hit us by surprise. We rushed the kids indoors and wrestled the awning onto the ground, it then poured with very heavy rain. Thankfully the anchor held no problem. What was amazing was seeing a flash flood roaring into the sea in front of us. You can see a heavily eroded red mud top to the mountain, through the binocs we could see a torrent of a stream rushing down the mountain into the sea. It created a huge red mud stain in the water which quickly got to us.
Rowan ended the day for us by making us each a tailor made pizza which the kids really enjoyed. Everyone was tired, no staying up late for anyone.
