A little unsettled

Poor Rowan suffered food poisoning from the restaurant last night, so had a very bad night. The wind has calmed down a little so so we waited until lunchtime to exit the narrow channel out the marina. Leaving time for the wind to die down a bit more and for R to catch up on some sleep. It was pretty exciting getting through the channel with the breaking waves and the current, but our Captain did very well to keep us on course.

It was a pretty rough sail back up north to the Exumas with big swells and wind speed just over 20 knots. We put our first reef into the sail successfully to make a more comfortable ride, but not quite good enough for poor Jan who got very seasick, and Clint to a lesser degree. Both were back to good form as soon as we anchored.

We had to go through the same cut (Cave cut) through the islands that was so hairy on our way down. This time we had the tide, current and wind all in the same direction which thankfully made a big difference and made a much easier passage through. Anchored just in time to catch the setting sun and had the most spectacular night sky of dazzling stars.
