Choppy’s Marina certainly lived up to it’s reputation last night! We were all up early, and glad to get on land for breakfast as the wind was really banging us against our mooring ropes. Clint seemed ok, his knee very swollen and bleeding, and he thinks his big toe is broken which makes walking a little difficult. Poor things, I’m not sure sailing is for them, I think they are looking forward to a slap up meal in Miami tonight and then back to Coronavirus infected Italy tomorrow.
Managed to get a mountain of laundry done for us at the laundromat and just got the guest cabin cleaned and made up for Phoeb’s arrival at 1pm. They arrived like pack horses with so much stuff or us, things we had requested and lots of special treats for us too. Dad is now a very grateful owner of a leatherman tool and I’m salivating over the amazing Fortnum & Masons chocolate biscuits. Once we got them on board we left the marina and crossed over the channel to anchor on the other side. Had the most delicious lunch of our fish, raw sashimi style. Luckily we had bought our own wasabi powder to make up, and plenty of soy sauce just for these occasions. It was absolutely delicious and thoroughly enjoyed by all 4 of us.

Rowan had his afternoon siesta while the 3 of us went over to a gorgeous little beach in Jeldi Jeldi. We arrived and noticed the private sign but Phoeb and Sam’s taxi had assured them that no beaches are private in the Bahamas. We hadn’t gone far along the beach when a golf buggy arrived with the owner telling us off, and saying by law we could only be between the low and high tide mark. An American in his second home! We left and had a further little explore in the boat.
Rowan got the BBQ working, we had some delicious lamb chops and aubergine that we had found in the supermarket. Sam had brought us 6 strings of solar fairy lights which he has strung up beautifully all around, very atmospheric and we now feel we can compete with the fancy charter boat next door with it’s flashy blue lights.

Early to bed for all of us what with jet lag for Phoebs & Sam, and disturbed previous night for Rowan and I.
