Banging against the wind!

A very peaceful night compared to last night. While leisurely eating our cooked breakfast we discussed our options for the next week with the various wind directions. We finally decided to head to some new islands otherwise we would be forced back to the Exuma islands for the third time. This meant either staying put for the day or banging straight into the wind for 5 hours. We opted to get going, it was serious choppy waves and a very banging crossing to Long Island.

What a relief to finally get to our anchoring, only one other boat in the area, and of course it is Canadian. It’s obviously not a hugely popular spot as there is the ruin of a marina that closed in 2012. We went for a little snorkel along the jagged limestone cliffs, that were sculpted into amazing patterns and holes. Not a lot of coral and not many fish, although Rowan said he spotted a big grouper in a hole that he thought was too unsporting to spear. Watched a lovely starfish walking its way across the white sand.

No fish for supper so steaks on the BBQ. Finished the night off with a game of Shithead …… no way to call a captain!
