It took us over four hours to get to Batanta, we had the sails up briefly, it was another very hot day with very little wind. We arrived at the anchorage to find we are the only yacht in the anchorage, last time we were here there were 6 other yachts! We got the anchor down in the same sandy spot as last time, in 26m of water. Crossing fingers our rusty link that joined our original 70ms with the 30ms we bought in NZ, holds fast, Rowan put a soft shackle (rope shackle) for extra security. The current really swirls in and out of here, so we really want to stuck fast especially with all the squalls about.
The boys went for a snorkel and a look out for Mantas, while I got our frozen chicken into the slow cooker. I also washed the mountain of Pak choi we bought in the market, it always need thorough cleaning with the amount of caterpillars in it. We also need to make space in the fridge, everything has to go in the fridge. The boys saw some good coral but sadly no Mantas. We enjoyed our Indonesian style chicken accompanied by a very nice bottle of wine Clint and Xavi brought.
