The thunderstorms started in the night bringing the rain. It literally rained all day, sometimes in downpours and other times just a drizzle. It was not weather to leave the boat in, we managed to do some boat cleaning, helped with all the excess water. Our big blue bucket would be filled with water in about 10 minutes. In the evening we went to the Homestay for supper, the German lady, Edit, does a great job of crossing the language barrier. She is a really lively 6.2 foot character, and absolutely loves the family who own the Homestay. She works here for the German winter, paying the Homestay with all her help, including a lot of financial help. There was one couple staying at the Homestay, can you believe it another South African! He had a kiwi partner both live in Australia on the Sunshine coast. Her husband died 5 years ago of skin cancer, they had bought their dream farm with beef cattle for their retirement plan. He never made it to retirement, she now runs the farm on her own and obviously loves it. He is a paramedic, his family all immigrated to Australia in the early nineties. He got divorced about 5 years ago, and the two subsequently met on a dating App. It was a very chatty supper, with a delicious fish meal, the grouper was particularly good, we are assured there is no Ciguatera here. It was good to get off PolePole having spent all day indoors.
