We managed to spend the whole morning sorting out admin again, only interrupted by Kane and Quinn joining us for a cup of tea and his raisin cake. He came over to invite us over for supper tomorrow night, which is really kind. The place has really emptied out, we are down to 3 boats here. It must be incredibly lonely sailing on your own.
It was a bit choppy and not ideal snorkelling conditions so we decided to go for a walk in the afternoon. Just as we were about to depart a couple from the Swiss boat, anchored not far from us, came over and asked us if we could give them 80 litres of water, in their 4 big water containers. In exchange they promised us a freshly baked Brioche Bread in the morning, as their skipper is a baker. It seemed like a fair deal. We headed off to the beach and had a long walk around the island, thank goodness for our sturdy reef shoes as we were mainly walking on sharp coral. Amazingly I still managed to find some beautiful whole sea shells on the beach even though the beach is just made up of broken coral. The broken dried coral clinks when you walk on it like glass, it is so brittle. We walked on the windward side for as far as we could and then had to bundu bash our way through to the other side, which was quite challenging as it is all lumps of sharp broken coral, which looked like a lava field. There had obviously been a big fire at some stage, just hope it wasn’t one of the cruisers beach fires, which seem to be very popular. Luckily the palm trees seem to survive with just their bases burnt.
A restorative early night for us and just a couple of episodes of Slow Horses!

PolePole looking very comfortable

The coral beach, we left JeldiJeldi out on anchor in the water. A few young black tipped sharks in the shallow water, it must be a nursery for them

Han will be pleased to see my handful of plastic ropes, they start disintegrating and leave shredded plastic everywhere

Almost as colourful as the Sally Lightfoot crabs in the Galapagos
