In the morning we had covered 200 miles in the last 24 hours which we think is really good going, even if we are not going in a straight line! We had kept Scary Spice up all night which normally we would not do, but the conditions seemed perfect and the lure of getting more miles under our belt was very appealing. It was a peaceful night for most of us, Rowan had to negotiate a squall or two but otherwise all good. We’ve clocked over 1000 miles now, we have also changed time zones so we put our clocks back an hour.
The wind died around lunch time and the decision was to take Ginger Spice out the locker, no sooner was the parasail up and flying well, the wind died and changed direction. Ginger was tied to the side to make her behave like an Asymetric sail to cope with the wind angle, everyone was pleased with the speed we were getting in the gentle wind. It wasn’t long before there was a bang and one of the ropes had snapped, a sharp bit of metal on a corner had sliced through it. That kept the men busy for a while with Nevil making lots of soft shackles and splicing ropes.
I managed the girls work out class in the evening, which always feels good afterwards. We had bean tortillas with melted cheese for supper, accompanied with fresh guacamole (our coriander is still going!) and sour cream. It went down very well with some very tasty coconut mocktails that Nevil made.

We were very pleased to get a 200 mile day

Ginger Spice is up

Dark clouds of the squalls, and Nevil’s matching Swiss flag flying!
