We woke up to very dark skies and torrential downpours, our friends the Kirbys were flying into Corozon de Jesus today from Panama City. We looked at the dark clouds over the mountains and wondered if the little plane would fly in this weather. Stella kept us posted on WhatsApp and although it was a lovely sunny day in Panama City the pilot knew about the weather on our side. We picked up the anchor and headed over to Nargana, which took a couple of hours and was pretty choppy and unpleasant in the bad weather. Luckily the weather started to clear and they were on their way to Corozon de Jesus’s little landing strip. We had been to Nargana on our last visit when we went up the Diablo river. This time we anchored the other side of town near the landing strip. Some cruisers on a dinghy came to tell us we might be a bit too close to the airstrip! Rowan thought we were ok for the next hour, and like clockwork the Kirbys arrived spot on time, Rowan picked them up in JeldiJeldi and we were back out heading to the islands all in about half an hour, quite incredible. Good to have the Kirby’s back on board, they joined us last in Bonaire.

Arriving with quite a bit of gear, including my new Japanese Thermos cooking pot.
We left the rather murky waters of Nargana and headed to Coco Banderos islands, there were quite a lot of boats, we opted to go to the same spot as last time with Luke and George, near the island that has lost all its trees. We had a good snorkel in the afternoon, and lots of catching up to do. Phoebs was busy making our hatch blinds, which are taking great shape. We had a little walk around the one island and decided against BBQ’ing on land, so it was a big fat steak on the PolePole’s BBQ, dodging showers.
