Thursday 23 March – A day of chilling and bottom cleaning

After some debate Hannah made the wise decision we should stay put for another night. The day was taken up with a lot of swimming and cleaning the hull which still has a huge green garden growing on it. Very good exercise for our bingo wings.

Just to show we sailed from the red cross to our blue dot to get here

The stunning beach

We had a lovely snorkel on the one edge of the beach, the visibility was not great, but the highlight was swimming with a Manta ray. He seemed to be enjoying swimming around us coming back and forth and one time coming straight for us, which did alarm me a bit, as I scrambled behind Rowan. Han and Rowan swam back to the boat and the ray caught up with them half way, Han got fantastic videos of it doing back flips right in front of them.

In the evening we went to the beach with the three crew from Renegade the fastest Arc monohull. They are friends with Rowan’s old East London (SA) friend Ingrid and Fred who we met in the Caribbean on their boat Gizmo. Such a small world.

We had beers on the beach and another gorgeous sunset.
