A quiet day of motoring was finally interrupted around lunch time when squalls started appearing. Rumour whizzed around the boats still connected by Stinky that the Trade winds are 30 miles away, but Rowan warns us they are most probably just hitting wind off the squalls. We finally get some wind off the squalls and the main sail goes back up plus Sporty (Code Zero) for a while. It is quite a relief getting into the squalls territory as it has brought a lot of cloud cover which is a welcome relief from the intense heat.
Otherwise it is a very calm day of motoring, no fish caught, no sightings of dolphins just a ghastly looking fishing trap that was floating on a big raft of what looked like tyres. We had our upgraded sundowner mocktails made by Han with muddled mint, on the trampoline. We introduced Nevil to the card game Shit-head, and had a couple of rounds before having Han’s delicious slow cooked vegetable lasagne for supper.
The betting draw for when we hit the Trade winds………
Jenny – midnight tonight
Nevil – 6am tomorrow
Han – 8:45am tomorrow
Rowan – 6pm tomorrow
Megan – uncommitted!
