Thursday 2 February – Final Shop and out to the anchorage

We have to be out the anchorage by 1pm, this is to allow the second half of the Arc fleet into the marina as there is so little available space. Many people had gone back to be line handlers on the Arc boats that complete their passage through the canal today.

Widge and I returned to the big Rey’s supermarket and did our last big shop, a few essentials like butter that I had forgotten! We got back minutes before our 1pm deadline and we were soon off the pontoon. We had to go to the fuel dock first to fill up the tanks and then we were out into the anchorage which is near the exit of the canal. It was good to be out in the breeze again. We finished packing away and did a bit of much needed boat cleaning.

There was a spectacular sunset with a boat on fire, the smoke added to the scene. We were all pretty exhausted, Rowan went and joined the new Arc arrivals for welcome drinks. The rest of us stayed on board, we had our little red snappers for supper that we had bought in the San Blas. It was literally a tasty morsel for each of us.
