Everyone except the two Jen’s seem to have sores that need to heal, so everyone is sensibly keeping out the water especially as we are all making plans to depart. Rowan has found this remote atoll that sound a very interesting visit, very few boats go out there, and it doesn’t even seem to appear on Apple maps very well. It means a dogleg for us but a good wind angle . So our plan is to leave at about midnight. Profasea do not have the fuel to do this so they will head to the next stopover island tomorrow sometime.
Bennett the old boy was around in the morning asking us to charge his phone. He told us he had told all the kids they were pestering us, so we had no more visits from them. It was getting a bit relentless, so we admired his authority to keep them all away. We prepared for our night sail, we hope to fly Pinkz, so we had to get her out the locker and up on the furler.
We were invited over to Profasea for snacks and BYO which is normal in the cruising community. Claudette doesn’t appear to have the budget to have any drinks on board and as we were getting up at midnight, no alcoholic drinks were had, just fresh coconut water, which we are getting addicted to. Kary asked us to choose a bit of jewellery from his large collection of very impressive creations. I think the kids will be gulping at Rowan’s second necklace choice!!! I went for a bracelet. I’m inspired to make some jewellery pieces from bits I have picked up. We have Rowan’s best man Grant and his wife joining us on the boat in a couple of weeks. They are coming from San Francisco, and are bringing loads of things out for us, including some jewellery thread for me!
We were in bed by 8pm.
