Taking it easy

We decided to have a chill day here on Sandy island. The heavy news out of Ukraine the only thing dampening a glorious day.

The beach was much quieter that the Sunday revellers had gone but we could still hear the boom box music from the carnival, it seemed to play all night long too. The day was spent snorkelling and playing on the beach, the kids enjoying every minute. They are such enthusiastic children, they both have such enquiring minds, they are very good company, well behaved and very engaged.

It has also been great to get to know Jonny and Dulcie better. We discovered that Jonny used to have a band and they did a lot of gigs before children and farming got too intense. We had a mellow evening on the boat listening to some of Jonny’s music, he has a great voice, great music too. His claim to fame is that Ed Sheeran was his support band back in the day, they were all doing the same Suffolk gigs. Ed Sheeran (for the South African readers) lives not far down the road from us in Suffolk.
