Our main halyard is still chaffing and Rowan organised a highly recommended rigging guy to come and sort it out. Catana (the boat makers) say the halyard needs splicing at the top where is is attached to the shackle. We also have to put the old shackle back, the one Rowan bought is not suitable. This meant they had to take the halyard off the boat, so they attached a mouse rope to the halyard pulling it all the way back to the helm seat, going down the mast and under the boat. Fingers crossed it works as last time the mouse came off. The rigger seems to think some things are too tight and the bend in the mast is too much. We will have to wait until the mast gets checked out in Antigua where it is booked in with Catana’s guys.
Then Rowan went to the dentist as a section of his back tooth has broken off. We got a recommendation from Mikey, and Rowan was pleased to have it looked at. He thought the dentist was a rather sleazy frenchman who most probably knew what he was talking about! He wanted to put a crown on it and fix some other teeth, he obviously spotted a big job. Rowan finally persuaded him to file it down, at least the pain has gone and it doesn’t feel rough anymore.
Boiling hot in the Blue Lagoon marina we opted to motor back to our favourite Bequia in the afternoon. We picked up a mooring ball again at Dafodils to get a huge mountain of laundry done before our next guests arrive on board on Friday.

Heading into Bequia
