Another boiling hot day and night. A few squalls in the night but no lightning thank goodness. We did a few chores and repaired our Pinkz sail, it had rubbed on a knot on the front railing and broken the seam at the bottom of the sail. I sewed it up before it got worse. Typically in trying to melt the fraying polyester fibres we managed to put a small hole in the sail! Luckily we have some sail patches that will cover the tiny hole.
At midday with good light to see the coral reefs we headed back to the village near the pass, dropping the anchor in a nice sandy patch. We plan to leave tomorrow. We wanted to go and say goodbye to the village chiefs and Brian, sadly a huge squall came over late afternoon, with torrential rain, so we never managed to get to the village. Rowan went for a snorkel in the pass early afternoon, the visibility was terrible. Not being able to see clearly he could just make out some big objects, he thought it safest to get out!
Just before dark we saw a guy out in a canoe, Rowan called him over, we gave him an old kayak paddle, which he was really chuffed with. We asked him to send our goodbyes to Brian and the elders as we plan to leave around 2am. This meant we were in bed by 8pm.

An interesting account of the Aussie guy who ran Nuguria as his kingdom

….. to deliver threats of foreclosure. Is the end of page 3.
