Sailing back to Bequia

With the winds in the right place we headed back to Bequia where we are getting our mast serviced, it’s got a bit sticky getting the main sail up. We also have to pick up our new BBQ grill and cover (that we lost overboard). Bequia is one of our favourite places in the Grenadines so we don’t mind heading back…… we certainly have the time! The wind was meant to be a little calmer but remained mainly over 20 knots which surprisingly I am totally relaxed about these days! We had a good sail over dodging loads of squalls, until we were nearly at Admiralty Bay when we were drenched and could barely see 5m in front. We had to get the radar on and crawled into the Bay. Five minutes later the downpour passed the sun was out and we anchored in our favourite spot on Princess Margaret’s beach, not far from the headland for easy snorkelling.

Heading straight into the downpour

Once we were settled we headed into town to do our chores and decided to go and have a drink at Papa’s, a bar/restaurant that Leonie and Jake had recommended to us. We were the only ones there initially, and went up to the roof to enjoy the sunset. A Danish family came up and joined us which was great to have someone to engage with and share sailing stories! We landed up having a tasty but very tough steak, the highlight was definitely their BBC cocktail – bananas, Baileys and coconut.
