Heading back to St John, we are going to the BVI after all!

Rowan finally made contact with the skipper, and he is expecting to take PolePole over to the BVI at 9am tomorrow. Rowan had thought we were meeting at midday which would have allowed us to do an early sail across beforehand. We had to change plans once again, cancelling our dinner invitation onboard Gizmo. We needed to sail back today, it is a 5 hour sail, and not something we could do tomorrow in time to meet our skipper at 9am tomorrow.

We had breakfast and set sail back to St John. We headed for the far eastern end of the National Park on St John, which had been recommended to us. Luckily the wind was great and it was a very comfortable 5 hour sail back, but no dolphins this time.

Departing Christiansted.

We anchored in a bay as we saw no mooring balls. I then realised we weren’t in the National Park, as there were a lot of boats and noise about, we picked up the anchor and went exploring deeper into the next bay. We finally found a ball with just one other boat in it. We had a lovely peaceful evening, with loads of bird and insect noise, it felt like being on safari in Africa!

The only other boat.

We think we were moored in Otter Creek.

We still have a 2 hour sail to meet the skipper, so it will be an early start tomorrow. We can’t quite believe we went all the way to St Croix just for dinner!
