Off to Jolly Harbour marina

The first jet skis arrived at 8:30am and we knew it was time to leave. It wasn’t far to go to Jolly Harbour Marina, where we were dropping off Daniel and getting a few boat repairs attended to. We sailed in front of the Galley Bay resort which was very nostalgic, they really do have an idyllic situation.

Galley Bay

We passed the Hawksbill Rock sticking out at sea. We popped into a few bays to have a look. We anchored for a while and caught up with swimming and reading.

4pm we headed into the Jolly Harbour marina, which is tucked away in a far deep corner of a big bay. There were a lot of boats out at anchor and we had to wiggle our way through to the dock. It reminded us of Fort Lauderdale, as there were loads of little water ways to left and right, like streets with little houses and their boats docked outside. Some of it looked quite run down, the main old building at the marina is completely derelict, a decaying fade about it all. We docked and then spotted our friend’s boat, Fatjax across the way. Jacqueline and Iain are both back in England at the moment, sadly coming back just after we leave! But we will catch up with them at some stage.

Phoebe and Daniel went for a walk. Rowan and I were just busy getting sorted when we heard someone calling PolePole and found it was the English couple from the Croatian boat we met our first day in Antigua. Their trans Atlantic crew have left and they are just cruising hoping to pick up a charter. They joined us for a few drinks and shared lots of sailing stories..

Entering Jolly Harbour

We had a tasty last evening with Daniel, steaks followed by bananas with chocolate and nuts, all cooked on the BBQ.
