Farewell to Luke

Rowan and I went for a lovely snorkel after breakfast, the coral was in better condition and plenty of fish. I’m not sure if turtles are territorial but there is a huge one that keeps swimming around us and was around yesterday. It is wonderful that there are so many turtles around.

We headed into Nonsuch bay properly and anchored under the cliffs near the resort where Phoebe’s friends were staying. Our provisions were running pretty low so it was a real case of scraping a dish together. We did a big bulgar wheat salad with some smoked chicken, with lots of bits and pieces . Rowan and Phoebe went to pick up Francesca and her two delightful university kids. It was lovely to meet them and hear what they had got up to in their week here. They were on the same flight back as Luke so he managed to get a lift to the airport with them which was handy. Sad to say goodbye to Luke but quite relieved his flight was not cancelled. All the new Covid restrictions are a bit daunting and unpredictable. He is returning to Mettingham where he will sit out the current lockdown.

We moved back to our favourite spot near the reef, passing very close by to all the enormous gin palaces, to have a really good snoop! We anchored next to a Swiss boat that we have been near before, it is a guy all on his own who is always stark naked. Phoebe was so impressed he doesn’t have a single tan line!

Devlin a local guy in a boat visited us in the morning to ask if we needed anything. It was great to give him a week’s worth of rubbish and to get him to do a small grocery shop for us. He arrived in the evening with a nice fresh fish and all our essential breakfast supplies. Just so friendly and helpful.

It was a wonderful evening with the moon rising over the reef and the sun setting behind the mountains.

Very pretty night lights.
