Sunday 3 September – more rain!

It has been the greyest wettest day, really not that much to write about as we huddled inside. We left Huahine in the morning, Rowan got the sails up inside the reef where it was calm and we sailed out the pass which was exciting. Passed a whole lot of surfers catching good waves.

We managed to sail the whole way, it was fairly bouncy with the large swell. We got to Raiatea after a couple of hours and entered through the narrow pass which was quite exciting, surfing in with the big waves! Rowan had the engines roaring to keep us on track. We headed over to the island Tahaa inside the reef, the two islands are very close.

Bleak!

The S African boat Waterlust was there with their french friends who once again helped us onto a mooring ball which was very kind of them. They both left shortly after we arrived, a few boats here but everyone huddled inside with this weather. And we still have another day of it!
